Two-time Congressional Cup champion Chris Poole (USA) continues to lead the fleet in commanding fashion with 11 wins and just 1 loss, while defending 2025 champion Eric Monnin (SUI) and 2009 winner Johnie Berntsson (SWE) are locked in a fierce tie for second place at 9-3.Read the story wmrt.com

Undefeated no more ⚔️ Day Two of the 61st Congress Undefeated no more ⚔️Day Two of the 61st Congressional Cup is in the books as Johnie Berntsson handed Chris Poole his first loss of the regatta in the final race of the first round robin:“I needed to kill the ‘Poole Undefeated’ headline,” said Berntsson.Poole still leads at 11-1, but the tone has shifted.Berntsson was the standout of the day, going 5-1 and moving into a tie for second with defending champion Eric Monnin, who fought through a gritty 4-2 day filled with comeback wins and high-intensity matches. “Every race was a fight from the beginning to the end,” said Monnin. “Many photo finishes. Leading the day, two-time event champion Chris Poole/Riptide Racing (USA) set the bar finishing undefeated with six straight wins.
