After trading early wins, the eight-time World Match Racing Tour champion shut the door in the pre-start and controlled the series when it mattered most. The day was defined by patience, precision, and unpredictability – ultra-light winds delayed racing until 3:45pm, and then sailors traded tacks until sunset, finishing out their last matches as the sun dipped below the Shenzhen horizon. The remaining semi-final between Sweden’s young wonder Oscar Engström and USA’s Chris Poole is locked at two wins apiece and will be decided tomorrow. The winner will move straight into the finals to face Williams, who now stands just one day away from a potential third consecutive Match Racing World Championship title in Shenzhen.
