Timothée Rossi, born February 25, 2003, began sailing in the Optimist class at the age of 7 within his city’s club, the Société des Régates d’Antibes. After spending 4 years in 420, he won his first titles, becoming twice European champion and twice world vice-champion. In September 2021, Timothée officially started match racing as skipper of a young match racing team based in the south of France. This team is made up of Thibaut Demai, Theo Masse and other teammates from the Olympic supports. Timothée has always been passionate about Match Racing, drawing inspiration in particular from two great figures of this sport, Mathieu Richard and Taylor Canfield. An interesting anecdote: Timothée’s wallpaper is a photo of his two idols, obtained during training for the SSL Gold Cup. Since he was 15, Timothée has had only one goal in mind: to become the second French helmsman to win the World Match Racing Tour, thus hoping to recover the title never obtained by his idol Mathieu Richard, lost during the last stage of the WMRT , the Monsoon Cup, in December 2010.
