Miami (FL), USA (February 23rd, 2017) – The World Match Racing Tour will host back-to-back World Tour level events on the idyllic water of Biscayne Bay this April. The sheltered racecourse means flat and fast conditions perfectly suited to M32 racing. Prior to these events WMRT will host a series of three match race clinics for competitors to obtain their M32 Match Race License, a must have to compete on the Tour.
The three separate match race license clinics will run in Miami from 4-6th April, 7-9th April and 11-13th April. The clinics are over three days in supplied M32s. The M32 match race license is compulsory for sailors wishing to compete on the World Match Racing Tour and is valid for two years, renewed automatically if the sailor competes in at least two M32 events during the year. The license ensures a minimum level of skill and knowledge of safety and boat handling as well as a testament of your ability to take care of an M32 catamaran.
Following the licensing courses, WMRT will run two World Tour level events, Miami Match Cup from April 11-13th and Coconut Grove Cup on April 14-16th. Entry is open for up to 10 teams per event sailing in provided M32 catamarans. The top two teams from each event will qualify for entry into Championship level World Match Racing Tour events in Sweden and Northern Europe respectively.
Spaces are still available for the match race clinics and for both WMRT events. M32 leasing is also available for licensed teams to train on Biscayne Bay prior to the events
