After beginning his competitive sailing career at the age of 14, Daniel Bjørnholt has won a number of international medals in the youth classes, making him one of the most succesfull youth sailors in Denmark. He competed four times in the prestige ISAF youth world championship, winning two silver medals in the catamaran class.
Catamarans has always been his specialty. After moving out of the youth division with U21 win at the 2014 Hobie 16 worlds, he secured two silver medals at Hobie 16 European championships, and topping it off with a world champion title at the 2016 Hobie worlds.
Due to his catamaran dinghy success, he became part of the Danish challenger for the Red Bull Youth Americas Cup, which he skippered in 2017. As part of the preparation for the cup, he got involved in the World Match Racing tour, where his catamaran skills quickly brought him up the latter of the World Match Racing Tour ranking.
