Nick Egnot-Johnson and his Knots Racing team from New Zealand are one of the most prominent up and coming match racing teams on the international circuit, currently in the top 10 rankings for the World Sailing Match Race Rankings.  In 2019, the newly formed team won the Match Racing Super League and the Hardy Cup Youth Match Racing event in New Zealand. They gained entry to the prestigious 2019 Congressional Cup in Long Beach, California , their first event on the World Match Racing Tour. The team won their first Grade 1 match racing event at Match Race Germany in May 2019 and went on to win the Governors’ Cup in Newport Beach, California, the premier youth Under 23 match racing international regatta. They finished 2nd at the Thompson Match Racing Cup in New York, before returning home to win the New Zealand Match Racing National Championships.  The team competed at the 2019 China Cup Regatta in the Tp52 and Beneteau 40 class. The team was awarded the 2019 Performance Award by New Zealand Yachting. Nick Egnot-Johnson is currently shortlisted as potential skipper of the New Zealand Youth America’s Cup team.
