SKIPPER
PHIL ROBERTSON

After winning the 2016 Match Racing World Championship and receiving a USD1m prize bonus, Phil Robertson said that he had achieved his dream that he set out for when he started into the sport. But in reality, that was just the beginning. The 2016 and 2017 sailing seasons, both in match racing and beyond, defined Phil Robertson.
On the World Match Racing Tour, Phil and the team of China One Ningbo won at Match Cup Australia 2017, defended their title at Match Cup Sweden 2017, and took the top spot at the new event Match Cup Russia 2017. They ended the 2017 season with a second place finish at the Match Racing World Championship in Shenzhen, China.
Gaining further high-performance catamaran sailing experience, Phil skippered Oman Air to a third placed finish on the 2017 Extreme Sailing Series, before winning the inaugural M32 World Championship 2017
Phil started 2018 with something even more extreme by skippering team Record Point in the brand new Superfoiler Grand Prix, eventually taking 4th place after five events. In late 2018, Phil was announced as skipper of Team China in the newly formed SailGP circuit in F50 multihulls.
