London (15 August, 2022) Chris Poole with his Riptide Racing team takes the win at Chicago Grand Slam event.
The Chicago Grand Slam ended yesterday with seven teams competing in Tom 28s out of the Chicago Yacht Club. The US Grand Slam, a tour consisting of four events throughout the US brings top match racing talent from around the world with the Chicago Grand Slam as the opening event. The overall winner of the US Grand Slam will get an invitation to the Congressional Cup, the ‘grandfather of match racing’.
Chris Poole (USA) clinched the final against Cole Taper (NZL) with Poole taking the win 3-0.
Jean-Baptiste Bern (FRA) won third place with Peter Holz (USA) taking fourth place overall.
