LONDON, UK (14 October, 2025)  The 2025 Szczecin Match Race, an official Grade 2 stage of the 2025 World Match Racing Tour, will take place from 17–19 October on Lake Dąbie in north-western Poland. The event will bring together a record entry list of sixteen world class match racing teams for three days of intense, head-to-head racing in identical RS21 yachts.

Located near the Baltic Sea, Szczecin is one of Poland’s most dynamic maritime cities — a hub for sailing, shipbuilding, and waterfront culture. The Szczecin Match Race is hosted by Polish Match Tour, Poland’s leading professional sailing circuit founded and managed by Maciej Cylupa, and which has developed into one of Europe’s premier match racing events. Since its inception in 2007, the Polish Match Tour has introduced the excitement of tactical match racing to venues across Poland, earning international recognition as an official stage on the World Match Racing Tour.

“We have been organizing the Polish Match Tour for 19 years now, and the Szczecin Match Race has become an almost legendary event in our calendar” commented Event Director Maciej Cylupa. “It’s the grand finale of the Polish sailing season, delivering a spectacular match racing show featuring some of the world’s top skippers. Past winners include former world no. 1 Ian Williams, Maxime Mesnil, Staffan Lindberg, David Chapman, Eric Monnin, as well as our Polish stars Patryk Zbroja, Marek Stańczyk and Przemysław Tarnacki — all three returning for the 2025 edition. We can’t wait for the matches to begin this week!”

The 2025 Szczecin Match Race will feature 16 skippers from nine nations, including several of the world’s top-ranked match racers. The 2024 defending champion Timothee Rossi has been unable to compete in the event this year, giving an opportunity for 2024 runner-up Tom Foucher, also from France, to improve his podium place this year.
