SKIPPER
EMIL KJAER
Blue Sails Racing is a Danish youth sailing team consisting of five sailors who have been racing each other for years in the youth classes and later decided to team up as a match race team. Blue Sails Racing have been training in match racing outside the city of Copenhagen, where they are based.
Emil Kjaer, who started sailing at age 7 and racing at 8, is making a great impression on the sailing world. With his team, he moved from dinghies into match racing, 4 years ago. Since then, they have been practicing in Skovshoved, Copenhagen in DS37 boats and J70.
In the past two years, they have won the national Danish match racing championship and Danish Open. Finished second at Governor’s Cup as well as placing 4th in the Youth Match Racing World Championship.
Emil finished 1st in the 2021 Ficker Cup, which qualified him to sail in the Congressional Cup, where his team took 6th place.
