Oscar began sailing at the age of 5, starting off in the Optimist class. Over the years, he managed to reach a high national level and even performed quite well internationally. While studying at a sailing-focused high school he made the transition to the 29er class, and thanks to the great training opportunities provided by the school his main focus fastly shifted towards fighting for top results internationally. During his time in the 29er class, Oscar competed for top positions in two Youth World Championships before transitioning to the Olympic class 49er, where he embarked on a brief Olympic campaign.

Since 2020, Oscar has been determined to broaden his sailing skills and knowledge by participating in various classes and disciplines, striving to become a more complete sailor. It was, therefore, perfect timing when he in 2021 got a chance to participate in the Youth Match Racing World Championship, despite having limited experience beyond a few national youth competitions. The Youth World Championship sparked his interest in match racing, and he’s been combining it with classes like M32, 12mR, and J70 ever since.

Now, Oscar and his team, consisting of Rasmus Alnebeck, Emil Wolfgang, and Filip Karlsson, are eagerly looking forward to the highlight of the year – the upcoming event at Marstrand this summer. They’re humbled and excited about the opportunity to compete against the world’s top match race sailors. It’s a chance for them to test their skills, learn, and see how they stack up against some of the best in the world.
